Universal Manifestation: Are you too privileged?

Updated: Jul 18, 2018

Just like every other #whitegurl on the internet, I have been reading and listening to a lot of podcasts, youtube videos and blogs about the universe. Not about space or Pluto (and Goofy), but about manifestation and self reflection. Apparently, if you're going through a tough time or significant obstacle in your life, just ask the universe for what you want and you shall receive.

But what if you've never gone through a hard time or significant obstacle in your life?

After watching my third extended youtube video on the 5 ways that the universe can help you, it made me realise I have never actually gone through a time in my life where I have so badly needed to ask the universe to help me in the first place. Does that make me a bad person? Why was I searching for ways to manifest and build a career/ finances/ relationships when I have no burden that has ever stopped me from doing so?

Thinking back to all the information I have come by on this topic, they have all mentioned getting over the bad times and pursuing who and what you really want to be during and after the events that have made you feel so alone, unsuccessful and insignificant. Another common theme, though, has been about destiny. How everything happens for a reason. The universe has it's own ways in making what you want happen, whether that be how you want it to happen or not. Funnily enough, this is the only thing that I could relate to after all my time spent on this non-scientifically proven topic. Good or bad, everything happens for a reason and karma will always come back around.

For me, the fact that this was the only thing that I could relate to meant one of two things - I am too oblivious, or extremely privileged. Either way, instead of manifesting great amounts of money and a penthouse in Vegas, I think I'll power ahead and get it all myself and leave the universe to do it's thing for people who actually need it.

New research: can you manifest Tim Tams?
