How Your Physique and Salary Are The Same Thing

They will always disappoint you, no matter what. We can always use a little more dollars and we can always find something to critique in the mirror. When we think of our goals, we create an idea in our head that once we achieve them we will be... happy. Finished. Content with our life. But is this true? When you set yourself a long term goal such as a salary increase, what does it leave you with? 'Oh, is that it? What do I do now?' You feel as though you want more and what you have now isn't enough & it just doesn't cut it. You aim for a bigger pay rise and work hard to get there and repeat the same emotional cycle of being almost disappointed with how you feel when you get there and wanting a change again. The change that will make your life perfect.

This is the same process we go through with our health and fitness. 'I'll start on Monday and eat clean for 30 days to look good for my next holiday!'. Then your holiday comes around and you look exactly how you've wanted to look and think to yourself 'Ok so what do I do now... am I supposed to feel happy?'. When in reality the process that you took to get there was dissatisfying and left you feeling lethargic and unhappy. Was it worth it?

Having a goal is a good thing until it starts to make you underestimate your hard work. I'll tell you this now; your life is not going to be perfect when you lose that extra 5kg and your life is not going to be perfect when you hit a triple figure salary. You will be remembered for your kindness and ability to leave something positive behind in the world, and not how you looked or what you made in a year, so why are you putting trust in something that is not guaranteed? Happiness is not guaranteed to those in power, or with a bikini body, & the perfect life doesn't exist.

Choose to be happy with what you have now and with who you are now. The power that comes from that is indescribable.
