I'm the type of girl who will either think about or physically write down the processes and procedures to get something done... but then won't actually do anything about it. By doing this it still makes me feel very productive, without actually doing anything #lifehack. But, this isn't necessarily a good thing so I have come up with some ways to hack this lazy gal system to get shit done NOW!
Please note that the following tips do actually require some movement and energy, but don't feel off-put by this just yet... annnnnnnd go!
Tip #1: Clean out your life (inbox)
Always ALWAYS leave your email inbox clean and clear.
Messy inbox, messy life.
With technology being so intertwined in our lives, it takes a mental toll on us when things get to be too much. Emails build up, your junk folder is maxed out and you have so many draft "Good morning, apologies for the delayed reply" emails that someone would think you are in stage 3 of dementia.
Clean your inbox, delete the unwanted and flag what needs attention. Do this for the next week or so and you will start to notice a much shorter, cleaner inbox folder to deal with on Monday morning!
Tip #2: Wake up earlier (#recycledtip)
Yep, I'm preaching it again.
Waking up half an hour, or even one hour earlier than you normally would seriously changes your LIFE! In this time you can do at least 1-3 things that you would normally have to do in your 9-5 grind in-between brushing your teeth, feeding the dog and going to that doctors appointment for that weird rash you have (it's called being human).
Follow tip #3 to utilise this more.
Tip #3: Write a to-do list
"But Amy, you just said you were counter-productive when you do this?"
Ok maybe I take advantage of this a little too much... the whole point of a to-do list is TO DO what is on the list. Recently I have changed the way I look at these lists and follow this protocol;
- Write them in order of importance
- Make them realistic for the day ahead (one day at a time)
- Cross those bad boys off with a bad ass looking pen (it helps)

Tip #4: Exercise early in the morning
This tip resinates with tip #2 - wake up earlier.
Even if you're not into exercising or think you don't have the energy, it's important to schedule in time to make your body and mind the number one priority.
Exercising in the morning has many benefits.
- It gets your blood pumping first thing
- It gives your brain a chance to wake up with fresh oxygen before heading into the office
- Gives you no excuses to avoid stretching (because you have to do it before AND after!) #2in1
- And it doesn't give you any time to dread that afternoon jog or gym session.
Get it done first up so you can tick it off your list straight away #killingit!
Did I seriously just give you four tips that will change your life? I think I did. You're welcome.
Follow these and I guarantee you will be more productive and get shit done like never before!
Clean away the BS that you don't need in your life. And do it now.
